Shawn McMorran

A Partner in Marlin Equity Partners from 2012 until 2018, Shawn was responsible for leading the firm’s European office and investment activities. 

He has been involved in all aspects of acquiring and managing investments, including deal sourcing and qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. In 2006, Shawn joined Marlin as an Operating Partner. He led a software rollup in the ERP market space serving as CEO of Solarsoft. In 2012, Shawn took the role of European Partner for Marlin Equity Partners, establishing the London headquarters and was responsible for the office until his departure in 2018. This included establishing Marlin's initial European fund, now a mid-market force in European software.

Shawn built his experience in the fintech arena through 12 years with SunGard Data Systems where he held leadership roles in the UK and EMEA. Shawn subsequently served as CEO of Almonde SA for Benchmark Capital prior to its successful sale to Misys in 2005. 

Shawn has served as Chairman and Board Director of a number of highly successful businesses including Solarsoft, Vivonet, Asset Control, Longview, IBS-Iptor, BlueGarden, Qualitest, TalkWalker, Hospedia and Marlin Equity Partners Limited.

He earned an honours degree in Economics from Carleton University.
